OK.

So recently, several people have been asking Kitty for art pointers.  Kitty surprised, and flattered, since Kitty not really consider himself any good at this art thing, mew...

But at the same time, if Kitty's limited skills, or his mistakes can help anyone, mew, ^^; then that's a good thing, mew.

So Kitty sketched this picture, this morning on openCanvas 1.1 b72.  This is the oC version everyone uses for "network collaboration," aka, oC'ing. ^^  Another advantage of this version is support for event files.

Just in case you don't know what an event file is... well... when you open the event file in oC 1.1, you will see every step, and every action, in the making of that picture, from begining to end.  You'll see how the picture is made, every brushstroke, and everything, mew, so that should be helpful.  There is one final correction Kitty did with SAI, which involves resizing of the eyes, but mew, oC doesn't allow for resizing.

Again, you will need oC 1.1 to view the event file -- a great program to have, and easily available from the internets.  You will also need the event file, so click here to download it, it's about 762 kb. ^^

Once you do, 1. open oC;  2. from the "File" option at the top, select "Import Event File";  3. select the file;  4. click OK on the window that appears, (the button with the green check) and enjoy the show. ^^  It should run for less than 10 minutes, mew.

Again, Kitty wish he were more skilled at this... but like I said, if anyone is looking for a quick pointers on what not to do, ^^; this might be helpful.

Health first.

So Kitty felt OMG I'M DYING LOL last sunday.  SRSLY. Oo

So Kitty went to the hospital, and they prescribed blood tests, and other tests, and an ultrasound. oO

Finally underwent through all the tests... will pick up results tomorrow... but.

The doctor believes it's a very serious liver problem... TT

It might be Hepatitis A. TT

She's recommended: 100% ABSOLUTE REST, which means, "lying down on my bed doing NOTHING" -- not even work. oO  Lots of fluids and a VERY strict diet... TT

Personally, I doubt it's hep A, but I'll know for sure tomorrow, mew... I do agree it's a liver problem, and it's SRS... so I'm not arguing against the rest, mew...

A few people who have talked to Kitty over IM these past few days have been notified that lately, Kitty in intense pain.  Not as bad as at first, but still... ouchie. TT  Right now, it's less severe, but it's still there, and I should very much so lie down, but mew... >>;

Kitty taking care of himself, mew... went through the tests, they had to draw blood twice -- second time still hurts. TT  Ultrasound was relatively painless... but they tell Kitty he's very clogged up... ^^;  Hahah, news to Kitty, mew... >>;

tl;dr, still waiting on results, still in some pain -- will ask for sedation, tomorrow. oO  And Kitty taking care of himself lots...

To all the people who have sent in good wishes, despite the fact that I haven't yet announced this openly until now, thank you. ^^  Kitty will get better, don't you worry!  I'm still online -- even if I'm lying down, mew.  So if you have me on your IM list, do say hi! if you see Kitty online... he would very much like to talk, mew. ^^

Digg, >>; and Kitty found this sad TT yet funny ^^ yet sad TT letter from a puppy to the Obama girls.  As some of you know, the future Overlord (hail!) promised his spawn a puppy, once they move into the White House.  And apparently, word gets out quickly in the abandoned puppy community... ^^

Got Kitty to thinking about stuffs, so... well.  Might be a good time to link to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, since most of my visitors come from the Empire.  And you can be sure I'll be linking to the Peruvian SPCA from our company's pages...

And since we're busy saving the world, here... Kitty wanted to link to "The Hunger Site," you know, that site where you just click, and by just clicking, you donate food to the hungry -- also has sister sites to make donations for animal food, cancer prevention, the rainforest, etc.  A good idea, you say... well... apparently, they're not a charity, anymore... and they're kinda secretive about their total donations... <<;  Mew, ok, then again, if by just clicking you get sponsors to donate and stuffs, even if it's a diluted amount, here's the Hunger Site.

The founder of the original "Hunger Site," however, has a new site, which is more transparent, and although certain pretty wuffie had commented that "it's sad that, if someone has food to give, they would choose to taunt people with it, in order to get other people to answer silly questions," (you can't argue with logic...) ^^; Kitty still linking to them.  The way Kitty figure, mew... it's just hard to come up with sponsors to donate money, mew. TT  And if this gimmick works to do just that, well, so be it, and personally, I think it's kind of neat. ^^


Be warned that some of the questions are fiendishly difficult. >>;  But helping to donate food for hungry people is always a good cause. ^^

Kitty fully agree with Jery, so Kitty made this!  It's slightly tongue in cheek, ^^ but you know Kitty doesn't kiss without punching in the liver, at the same time. *^^*

Today, like we do every four years, when the air becomes chilly, and the leaves become red, we celebrate Democracy.  Today we take a sip of this warm cup of bourbon-laced cider for the spirit, we pat ourselves in the back for having made it four more years, we throw the dice, we light a candle, and we prepare to curse the glare.

It's funny, you know.  To a faraway alien observer, democracy should be something that we celebrate every day, not just when it's time to dress all warm, brave the weather, brave the lines, and the mud slinging, and cast our civic conscience in a pull of a lever.  But I digress...

Democracy, you see, doesn't happen only during elections.  Elections happen during elections.  But that precious, wondrous gift passed down from the ancient Athenians, tempered by our forefathers, and handed all the way down to the chaotic here and now, is something that we live every day.  Or at least, something we should live, every day.

Government of the people, by the people, for the people, you see, is constantly listening to the people.  It's constantly being guided and changed by the people.  And that would be you.

Cast your vote today.  Cast your vote every chance you get.  Celebrate your freedom, celebrate the fact that your future is indeed in your hands.  But most importantly, live that freedom, every day, every moment, with every breath you take.  Get involved, move things, change the world.  In the end, that's what Democracy is all about.

Well, Kitty make this quick.

Ok, I lied, Kitty try to make this quick. ^^;

So one of the underlying themes in this journal, as of late, is Kitty's health -- slowly/surely getting back on track, btw.  And how, because of the alert that was sounded, a new leaner, meaner, healthier Kitty is in the works.  Which is good, I suppose.

Perhaps... the biggest reason Kitty would've never considered lifestyle changes is because Kitty don't wanna admit he's growing... old. >>;  As long as I can live life to the fullest, as long as I don't slow down, I'm still young, or so Kitty reasoned, more or less.

But you see... (and again, Kitty will never admit to being old, anyway) << it's not a matter of "growing old," but becoming aware of the simple truth that I am bound to the limitations of this physical body, and the laws of physics, chemistry, and quantum mechanics of this cursed, evil dimension what was my point again? Oo

The easiest way to put it is this:

My physical body needs maintenance, like any other machine does.  It may be very hard for someone to believe but Kitty just recently figured this out.  "As long as I can live life..." etc.

Continuous care of my physical body will ensure proper functioning, more enjoyment, and (I don't care about # of years but) quality and fun of my time on earth.

I know, I know... I hate how hokey, new-agey, middle-agey this sounds. >>;  I can imagine the 15 year old me would kick the... 29+ year old me, and kick him, until the 29+ year old me kindly, sweetly, violently explained to the younger me, that this is for the best for both of us, and he should shut the hell up, *pimp smack* and stop being such a newbie, and raise more hell while he's still young.

But it makes logical sense, you know.  Kitty a crazy, wild Kitty, but Kitty can't argue with logic.  Kitty take good care of his machines, for example.  His car (when he had one) and his PC.  This ensures optimal working conditions, and a longer lifespan.  Kitty proud of his ability to care for machinery, actually...

So... why neglect the lovely, adorable, rapeable machine that is Kitty himself? ^^

And I do admit Kitty in a bit of denial about becoming old. ^^;>>;  Can't blame Kitty, really.  Anyone over 21 is old to Kitty. ^^  But that's allright, that's ok.  Old pplz can be cool... so maybe Kitty can be cool too... I mean, when he get old, in, say, 50 years.  If he lives that long, of course, hahahah.

Coincidentally, did you know MTv put its entire video archive online?  I know, wild!  So Kitty just learned that too, and headed there this morning, and the first video he wanted to see -- and again, coincidentally, it's in the front page, somewhere -- was "Touch of gray," by The Grateful Dead.

Kitty not gonna wear any gray, mind you. >>;  But the point gets across, and for that, Kitty thank Jerry Garcia, wherever he is. ^^

Anyway, Kitty just took some antibiotics without having breakfast, oO so he needs to go out and get something to eat.  It'll be something healthy, of course. ^^

So my kitten had been sick, last week. TT  Of course, it made Kitty wish he were over there to make my kitten feel better...


I posted on FA that Kitty gonna start asking pplz not to get all sick when Kitty himself is not feeling too well... <<;  Kitty is the one who needs all the care, and luffings and stuffs, lately. >>;  Plus, how can Kitty care for his favorite people, if Kitty all sick? TT

Speaking of, yay, health report behind this link..

Kitty sorry to be bringing icky details on his personal life on his website, mew. TT  However, Kitty also know a few people worry, and it's probably a good idea to keep everyone informed, just in case, mew.

So... yeah... ulcer gone, or mostly gone... not bothering Kitty much, which is good.  The bad news is that Kitty think that the treatment was overkill. Oo  Liver... mew... feeling resentful and stuffs, with all the meds and stuffs. TT

And... it gets worse, of course. <<;  Seems Kitty has now developed a kidney problem -- yay. >>;  It might be a kidney stone... TT not sure yet...

Kitty has been to doctors to look for patches, mew.  A cortisone shot, if you will -- a boost, a quick fix to keep Kitty running.  Unfortunately... well... that has consequences.  Kitty simply NOT taking care of himself.  That's the underlying problem, mew...

I believed this whole icky series of events was a wake up call.  Now, I believe it was a desperate cry from Kitty's body to simply stop being so mean to himself.  And it's interesting, you know... how it takes a bit of a minor crisis, for Kitty to consider implementing lifestyle changes...

tl;dr, take care of yourself.  SRSLY.  In my case, I will make those changes I've been wanting to avoid for years.  Partly... that's why I'm shying away from "plump" and "chubby"...  Mew, that serious...  It does appear that there is no such thing as "healthy" fat.  Mew... take it from me... ulcers, stomach problems, kidney problems, liver and pancreas problems, back pain...

Kitty will live.  Kitty will take care of himself, from now on... Kitty no want to go through this ickyness ever again...

Kitty will miss a lot of things, though. TT  And strangely... the thought of such things now is a bit nauseating. oO  Funny how we're bound by our bodies like that...

Ok.

So Kitty underwent treatment for his ulcer.  Antibiotics, yay.  The problem with the treatment is that Kitty's liver didn't like it.<<;  Also, it seems to have decimated his "good" bacteria, which has been a SRS problem for Kitty in the past... >>;

Kitty can't get a break, apparently. ><

So... Kitty think the ulcer well in process of healing, but his stomach cramps have returned.  They're strong, mew TT, just not OMG terrible as usual, which is what worries me... Oo  If they were, I could just take valium, and be done with it... as it is... I'm not sure whether such strong medicine is called for or not. oO

Also... well... for about a week, Kitty was actually feeling fine!  Responding nicely to treatment, no pain, no discomfort, mew.  It suddenly started again last Thursday... it should peak today and be on the way out tomorrow.  I hope...

Thus you have an achy, whiney Kitty... more quick tempered than usual, and pretty much unable to work.  It's good that all Kitty has scheduled for today is just a meeting to pick up some money he is owed, and an advance on a new project he's getting involved.  I think that on the way back home, I will get a refill on those pills... TT Kitty feel he has no choice, really.

Personally, I don't think it's that bad.  Ulcers are not only treatable, but they're not really SRS.  Kitty actually relieved that, for a change, the condition has a name.  I never did figure out what the cramps were about. oO


Considering the little arsenal that I'm using to tackle this (Mylanta, a sucralfate, a form of valium oO, tetracycline, acetylaminophenol, and metronidazole), well... Kitty a bit weary about a few side effects... so Kitty will be careful.  This little array was assembled by two doctors and a pharmacist, but considering that ye olde internets has conflicting information about these medicines, mew... <<;  Kitty will definitely be careful.

Also, Kitty installed the new Google Chrome Beta, the brand spanking new, just-released-moments-ago browser by Google.

It looks very interesting... although I'm not sure it's living up to its own hype of being "light" and "fast."  Base install is around 60 megs. >>;  Compare that to my full 24 meg install of Firefox 3.0.  The browser looks very neat... very clean.  I would like it a lot better than Firefox solely on looks.  However.

It's not... that fast. oO  Not on my PC, at least -- size would have something to do about it. <<;  I'm still testing the hell out of it, and although it does look like it will deliver on the features that it promised on that 40-page comic, <<;;; I don't like the fact that it takes 60+ megs of disk space, and worse, it doesn't let you choose the installation path. ><  For someone like Kitty, who likes to keep his o/s partition mostly clear from program files and configuration stuff, this is just... not good.

Ah, hahahah... also, fail japanese support.  Mew... definitely not good. Oo

But some of you might be ok with it, so... mew.  Just in case you haven't been paying attention, now you know. ^^

i want you to know it's a little

So the link on the main page that says "Journal Labels," is a link to the journal labels page. ^^  Since my hosted Blogger journal comes without a "labels" widget, I had to write a little PHP script to collect all my journal labels.  Hopefully, it'll make it easier to the kind of porn that you all are looking for, with just a couple of clicks. ^^

The label system enabled and functional, it's time to start uploading all those pictures.  Of course, they will be labeled appropriately, so that they can be easily accessed through the "Labels" page.  The germans call it "vorsprung durch Technik," which roughly translates to "Kitty finally got off his adorably cute lazy little tail and wrote that script," in the beautiful and evil german language. oO

Moar chibis.  The background for this one took me a good couple of hours this morning. Oo


I'll make a note to go easier on the "cutesy-ness," next time.  "Cute" != "cutesy."  But you knew that, already.

Edit, 10:56 am: So I'm enabling some 301-code redirects from my old site, and pointing those pages here.  And I decided to check my old site stats one last time.

The stats have... changed. oO  The couple of things that have remained constant about my visitors (at least, according to Quantcast) is that they are: 1, male, 2, mostly teenagers, (Hi, teens!) ^^ 3, heavily japanese, and 4, without kids.

But I always took pride in that we had a higher-than-average % of visits from people who made 100k or more a year.  And people with graduate degrees. oO

Now, however, Quantcast tells me that my visitors tend to be poor and uneducated... >>;;;

What else, what else... oh!  Kitty hyperwired about the new Watchmen Movie!  If you haven't seen the preview, you should!  Personally, Kitty think this preview looks more interesting than the preview for "X-men Origins: Wolverine" -- even if that one has Gambit in it.

Well... Kitty try not to get too wired -- Kitty remember "Speed Racer." <<;  And in all honesty... it's mostly the end of the preview that looks AWESOME... and the music -- "The beginning is the end is the beginning," by the Smashing Pumpkins. ^^  Guess what's playing in my Winamp right now? ^^

I've been looking at some of my old pictures, and I've come to the conclusion that I had been right all along:

So yesterday afternoon, I decided to sketch a 10 min colored sketch to prove to myself that, in 10 minutes, I can now crank out something way better that the stuff I had been cranking just a couple of years ago.

In all honesty, though, this was interrupted by the following:

- 6 people offline
- 5 people online
- a hamburger combo at a restaurant 5 blocks away
- the "Quentin Tarantino" episode of CSI
- natural Kitty curiosity regarding: The lyrics of "Eye in the sky," by the Alan Parsons Project, and Sen. Joseph McCarthy.
- the usual string of death threats a Kitty has to send, to get stuff done.

Well, a few announcements:

» The domain has been bought, ^^ and I'm currently waiting for Gushi to set up the webspace.  Payment was sent last Monday night, so Kitty... just... waiting.  Which is hard, mew.

» Right now, Kitty gonna go try and find a video card for his old PC.  The reason this is relevant to anyone who remotely enjoys my art is that Kitty OMG FINALLY LOL getting that SAI license, as soon as ye olde PC proves its okay-ness. ^^

» Speaking of people who don't completely hate me: recently, I've had the pleasure of seeing my pictures around the web, on some forums and some imageboards.  The fact that many of those pictures are posted in the "Do not share plz" section of CubCentral notwithstanding, *giggles lots* Kitty flattered, Kitty tickled, and Kitty, for the most part, approve with a great deal of gratitude. *^^*

My only complaint is that some of my older pictures are getting posted, and well... mew... some of my very old pictures, I'd rather forget I ever painted them, mew... ^^;  Again, this is a thinly veiled warning that much of my old material WILL be taken offline, when I move to the new website.

My, Kitty feel like writing lots, today. ^^

Mew, the "should I post my 'young' stuff on FA' poll, hahah... still officially open -- check the post below. But response has been minimal, so I've already made my decision...

Most of you who I talk to on MSN, AIM, and Yahoo! know that I've been working on my part of a trade with the phenomenal Zorro Re.  I'm not gonna make any excuses as to why it's taken me so long. ^^;  I apologize to Zorro for the delay, but I've finally settled for a pose I'm happy with -- click here for a preview.  Probably the last you see of that picture, before it's completed, and certainly the most "naked" version anyone else will see. ^^
